E-mail Print PDF

The transition from primary to secondary school, is an exciting time full of challenges and experiences for both parent and child. We work very hard to ensure maximum success for all of our students, we also want them to enjoy making new friends and grasp the opportunities that secondary school brings. Students joining us will be in a house group, each group has a Team Leader ( Teacher ). Prior to this the transition team here at Middlecott will visit our partner primary schools to talk to your sons/daughters and their teachers.

You will be invited to a transition open evening on Monday the 2nd July 2012 where you will have an opportunity to  meet staff, tour the school and meet some the agencies we work closely with. We look forward to meeting you and answer the many questions you may have.

On Wednesday the 4th July 2012 the students will spend the day at Middlecott School, they will have taster lessons and partake in activities to help reassure them about their new school. They will also have the opportunity to get to know their Team Leader and their tutor group a little better. Prefects will also provide support during the day and for their first term.

WWII Mobile Museum visits Middlecott

“We’ll Meet Again”, the WWII Mobile Museum recently visited the Humanities Department. Paul and Linda Britchford taught students about the role of the Home Guard and the effect of rationing in Britain. The students who were involved were from Years 9 & 10 with a few students from Years 7 & 8 gaining entry with a golden ticket issued as a reward for excellence in Humanities subjects.  The ‘hands on’ approach allowed both students and staff to appreciate the difficulties of life in that period of our country’s history.
